Golden Guardians has announced that it has signed Eric "Licorice" Ritchie, a top laner who formerly played for FlyQuest. The team obviously has a lot of faith in the young player as they have already extended his contract through to 2023. Liorice joins the team in place of Colin "Solo" Earnest, who has now been moved to the bench and is eligible as a substitute until November (providing that he isn't acquired by another team before then).

Licorice, if you're unaware, started his professional esports career back in 2015 and has played for many big-name teams such as Cloud9 and eUnited. His latest stint with FlyQuest only lasted for seven months and it saw him play in competitions such as LCS 2021 Spring and LCS 2021 Lock In.

Announcing the news on Twitter, the team said: "Join us in welcoming the newest addition to Golden Guardians, @Licorice. We've not only acquired Licorice, we've extended his contract through 2023, as we believe he will be a player worth building around in the coming years."

Do you think that Licorice is a strong fit for the team?
