League of Legends developer Riot Games has revealed some viewership numbers for the summer season of the new European Championship (LEC), and it seems that things are going well, especially when looking back at this season.

The spring split saw record-breaking viewership increase, and this has actually continued into summer as well, with the first three weeks seeing a 37% increase in viewers from last year, bringing the average minute audience each week to 136,000. This also means the summer split is the most-watched since 2015.

"That's a testament to the dedication of our fans, who tune in every week to see the action unfold as it happens - and there's still more in store to come. With our LEC Summer Finals heading to Athens, Greece for the first time in League of Legends history, and this year's World Championship taking place on European soil, there's plenty to get excited about as an EU fan. We can't wait to see what will happen over the coming months, and we're sure you're just as excited, too," Riot writes.

If you want to go to the summer finals in Athens from September 7 to 8, you can get your tickets right here.
