It's gearing up to be a real heated fight between former Rockstar executive Leslie Benzies and the Houser brothers who founded the studio back in 1997.
In the lawsuit Benzies makes some interesting allegations, including some stuff that isn't very flattering for the Houser brothers, among the accusation his claims that they lack skill in game design. Apparently the main bulk of GTAV was made by Benzies and the rest of the 1000-strong GTA team while the Housers just dropped in and took credit for all of it in the end.
Leslie Benzies lawsuit states the following:
"Sam Houser and Dan Houser did not help invent, create, or develop any of the paradigm-shifting game development, design, and artistic innovations in GTA 3 that so dramatically elevated the GTA franchise."
Furthermore Benzies claims that the Houser brothers had little to no interest in the GTA Online part of Grand Theft Auto V, which to some extent might explain why that section of the game was so flawed when the title was first released.
"The Houser brothers had little interest in GTA Online, and did not focus on its development," said the disgruntled former employee.
When Benzies placed his name in the most prominent spot at the end of the opening credits, a place usually taken by Sam Houser, it caused a big stir at the studio:
"He claimed to have noticed it only after it had already been released. If true, this would mean that he had not played or even viewed the game pre-release, or else he would have seen the opening credits."
