Despite a common conception online that Little Mac in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS should be somewhat overpowered, the truth is quite the opposite. This was revealed by the producer Masahiro Sakurai in Famitsu, where he writes that the stats shows that one character in particular has a very low win ratio: The Punch-Out boxer Little Mac.

Sakurai writes:

"For Super Smash Bros. Brawl, the individual character win ratios lined up nicely in a staircase format, but [for Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS] one fighter has a significantly low ratio. It's Little Mac."

He continues by explaining more about Little Mac and how he works in the game:

"Little Mac is a fighter with very pronounced strengths and weaknesses. While he has an enhanced dodge and megaton-level punch for aggressive play, he has very weak jump power and a simple back throw along with a follow-up attack prove to be crippling."

REVIEW. Written by Ignacio Reinosa

"The screen can feel too small, the controller too cramped. But this is the full, undiluted power of Smash Bros. in the palm of your hand, and that K.Os those issues easily."
