During a recent financial call, Take-Two has revealed its financial results for the third quarter of the fiscal year, which ended on December 31, 2016, revealing the sales figures for Mafia III and Civilization VI. As it turns out, they have shipped five million units for Mafia III and 1.5 million units for Civilization VI.

Net sales of the company have grown by 15% (surpassing more than 476 million US dollars), while net loss decreased to $0.33 per share. Also, net cash provided by operating activities grew 72% to $291 million and bookings grew 51% to $719.0 million. CEO Strauss Zelnick was very satisfied by that "highly-successful" holiday season and he commented on those results as follows:

"Take-Two had a highly-successful holiday quarter, consumer demand for our new releases and catalog titles was strong throughout the period, and players continued to engage significantly with our games after purchase. As a result, we delivered better-than-expected bookings, including our best-ever quarter for recurrent consumer spending, along with double-digit growth in both net revenue and net cash provided by operating activities."

In short, these are very interesting results for Take-Two, especially since Civilization VI was the fastest selling game in the series' history. It hasn't quite reached the same levels of Grand Theft Auto V, but they're still impressive nonetheless. Did you expect these two games to be big hits for Take-Two?
