During E3 Tripwire Interactive revealed that they'd be publishing games in the future, one of which is Blindside Interactive's Maneater, a game about a shark. We spoke with Tripwire's Mike Schmitt in LA about all things Tripwire, and of course we just had to ask about this rather odd game.

"I guess the big reveal we had was a new game that we announced called Maneater, which is an open-world, action-RPG where you are the shark," he said. "It got a great reaction at the show, we're really excited about it. It's being developed by a team called Blindside, which funny enough was founded by Alex Quick, who was the modder Tripwire worked with initially, who created Killing Floor, so it's kind of like we're working with Alex and his team again. The game looks fantastic and we can't wait to show more about the project and providing more details."

"We don't have an official release date yet, but it'll probably be sometime next year. Don't have tons of details as of now [...] it's kind of a revenge story. I think in the game your mother's killed by a dastardly fisherman and you're kind of seeking revenge on him. It's got tons of stuff you've never seen in other games before, you can see some of that in the trailer, some of the different attacks the shark can do."

Will you be seeking revenge on humans when Maneater releases?

      Maneater

      REVIEW. Written by Ben Lyons

"Maneater takes the essence of GTA and channels it into a relentless ocean-based romp that somehow also manages to show the atrocious impact we humans have on our oceans."
