A few months ago, Nintendo updated the bio of Mario on the official website claiming that he was no longer a plumber. "He also seems to have worked as a plumber a long time ago", said the description of the most famous video game character after mentioning his sports abilities, like tennis, baseball, soccer, and car racing. This seemingly innocent line caused some a bit of an outrage among some fans.

Now, Nintendo has reversed the decision to retire Mario from his profession. The company has once again changed Mario's bio on the official Japanese website, and it now states: "his occupation is plumber. However, his activity is not confined to that area", as translated by @SMWikiOfficial. The text references his sports games, his brother Luigi and his tireless defense of Princess Peach.
