Mario Kart 8 Deluxe led software sales for the third week running in Japan, according to the latest numbers from Famitsu (via MCV). The game sold just over 30,000 copies last week, well ahead of the second-placed game Monster Hunter XX for Nintendo 3DS. To date, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe has sold just over 397,000 copies in Japan, and it is quickly catching up to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which has achieved sales of 402,000 to date. The Nintendo Switch also sit atop of the hardware charts with just over 25,000 units sold last week, roughly double that of PS4. Both Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Switch saw numbers fall compared to the week prior, but it is still likely that Mario Kart 8 Deluxe passes Zelda in Switch sales in Japan next week.
