Not Pokémon, not Zelda and not Mario platformer games. The real million-seller of Nintendo in the 21st Century is Mario Kart and the first instalment on mobile phones proves once again his reach among a broad population of gamers. After one month available on iPhone's App Store and Google Play Store, Mario Kart Tour has set a record for the recently created mobile division at Nintendo.

According to Sensor Tower, Mario Kart Tour has been downloaded more than 123 million times in 30 days. This is almost five times more than Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp in the same period and competes in the same range as the phenomenon Pokémon Go.

What seems kind of disappointing for Nintendo and DeNA is the spend per user. Sensor Tower estimates that Mario Kart Tour revenue for the first month is 37.4 million dollars, while Pokémon made about 200 million dollars and a Fire Emblem Heroes made more than 65 million dollars. The arcade racer is free-to-start, as Nintendo calls it, and you don't need to spend any money to play every day for hours.

None of the above are official figures.
