Marvel's Inhumans cancelled after just one season

While the level of ambition might have been sky high, critical and audience reception made it clear that Marvel's Inhumans on ABC wouldn't meet the high bar set by their other successful Marvel show, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. After both mediocre reviews and a strong dip in viewership over the course of the season, the show has now been canned.

TVLine reports that the show averaged a viewer count of 2.65 million, and according to ABC's Channing Dungey these ratings were "less exciting for us than we hoped they would be".

The first two episodes were actually shown at IMAX theaters all over the world, so given the hype and the investment, this must be a major disappointment for both ABC and Marvel.
