According to new figures provided by Adobe through its Digital Index Report Hideo Kojima's last Metal Gear game sold really, really well during its first day on the market. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain sold for roughly $179 million in its first 24 hours. The Avengers: Age of Ultrons drew about half as much during the initial 24 hours ($89 million).

Age of Ultron cost additionally a little more than three times as much to produce as Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain allegedly did (we don't have actual figures on its budget). Nevertheless it proves how lucrative games can be in comparison.
