Minecraft will be released in yet another format when it comes to the Nintendo Switch soon, and it's clear that Nintendo is putting in the effort to make sure the adventure is in good form on the new console, and that includes increasing the map size.

The developer announced during a livestream with developer Mojang that the Switch version will feature a maximum world size of 3072 x 3072 squares, which is roughly 13 times bigger than the PS3, PS Vita, Wii U, and Xbox 360 versions of the game (864 x 864). The PS4 and Xbox One versions are 5120 x 5120, so it's nice that the Switch has found a happy middle ground.

In addition, the game will also maintain a stable frame-rate of 60 FPS, both in portable and in docked mode, and in contrast to the 720p resolution of the previous consoles, the game will now be raised to the current level of 1080p, which has already been achieved by 4J Studios with desktop and console versions of the game. It's not yet known, however, how the resolution changes when you remove the Switch from the dock.

We also want to remind you that the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft allows you to transfer data like game worlds from the Wii U version, however, this feature will not be ready at launch and must be downloaded via an update, which will be available on May 11. Whoever wants to get Minecraft on the Switch should also take a look at the Nintendo-themed content below. Can the Switch version of Minecraft be one of the best versions?
