Major League Gaming, the host of some of the biggest and best esports tournaments around, have announced that they are hosting a new tournament to get excited about: MLG Vegas. The tournament will play host to both Call of Duty and Overwatch.

The Call of Duty tournament that is to be played at MLG Vegas is to be the first competition in the Call of Duty World League 2017, and the Overwatch tournament is to be a standard invitational, with both having prize pools of $100,000 US dollars each. MLG Vegas is to last for three days and both competitions will be spread across these days, meaning we'll be seeing a lot of high-level Overwatch and Call of Duty played during this time.

This news is hot on the heels of the news that Blizzard are planning to start their own dedicated esports league for Overwatch, and this could be the start of that, seeing as MLG is owned by Activision Blizzard.

MLG Vegas is set to start on December 16, and will run through until December 18. We will likely be seeing more news about the tournaments, as well as who will be playing, at a later date. Those interested in making the long trip to Vegas and watching the teams play can check out tickets right here. Is Vegas a good setting for an esports tournament?
