Many consumers berated Activision for making Modern Warfare Remastered only available when purchasing the Infinity Warfare: Legacy Edition last holiday season, but it was widely speculated that the game would eventually go on sale as a standalone product. This month, it would seem that the aforementioned speculation has come true.

First reported by Charlie Intel, they were sent some photos of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered PlayStation 4 case from an employee at Target. According to the anonymous tipster, their internal computers report a release date less than a week from now, Tuesday June 27, while the Xbox One version is slated to launch on July 27. The price is $39.99, though it's unconfirmed what it will be in Europe - most likely £29.99, though we have no source on that.

We rated Modern Warfare Remastered quite highly when we reviewed it last year. What did you think of the game, or if you didn't pick it up, will you now that it's releasing on its own? Let us know in the comments.
