Crusader Kings II will be getting its newest expansion Monks & Mystics soon, Paradox Interactive has announced, and in it the religious part of the game will be explored deeper, with character associations and new mechanics allowing players to interact closely with faith.
"The major feature of Monks & Mystics is the addition of Societies - secret and otherwise," the press release says. "Characters can join monastic orders, secret cults and Gnostic heresies. As the society gains members, it gains power and prestige for its leaders. Societies open new actions for characters and can lead to new event paths."
The DLC included Monastic orders to interact with, as well as cults, and you can climb the ranks of societies as well in order to unlock new abilities and events. New councillor actions are also included, and you can even hunt for heretics, because you don't want people undermining the faith, do you?
A new trailer has also been released and is included below. Do you think faith is a worthwhile avenue to explore in Crusader Kings II?
