Monster Hunter Generations has been on sale for less than a week and has already made quite an impact, and thus now it's time to talk about the additional content set to be added to the game.

Capcom has announced via its Unity blog that the DLC campaign for this new Nintendo 3DS title will be just as it was with Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate. This means that players will be able to download something new every first Friday of each month, with the first pack having already dropped.

The plan is to keep rolling until at least early 2017, but there's no fixed deadline as yet.

These DLC packs can be quite large and include enhancements to many areas. They can combine new missions with additional items and special characters, potions, extra weapons, or perhaps even skins and accessories for customisation.

And those who have followed the series recently (and this particular game in Japan) will know that there's also collaborations and crossovers with other franchises. Nintendo is lending Mario, Luigi and Fire Emblem costumes. Capcom is combining Monster Hunter with Okami, and then there are some manga franchises such as Fairy Tail.
