Capcom has revealed that net sales have increased to 61,270 million yen in its recent earnings report for the nine-month period ending on December 31, with this figure representing a 28.3% increase year-on-year.

What's more is that operating income sits at 13,461 million yen, a 92% increase year-on-year, and ordinary income is up 90.7% year-on-year to stand at 13,539 million yen. Lastly, net income attributable to owners of the parent was 9,180 million yen too, which is up 106.8% year-on-year.

Healthy sales growth was seen by catalog titles like Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection, but the real big deal for Capcom is Monster Hunter: World, which is the first title in the company's history to surpass 10 million units shipped. This game also helped Capcom achieve the highest profit levels for the end of a third quarter in its history.

Later on in the report we hear that the "strong performance" of the Steam release on PC boosted profits further, as did the expansion of the user base. Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate also had "robust" sales and was consistently popular on the Nintendo Switch. Onimusha and Mega Man 11 both had a "good start" after being released at the end of 2018 too.
