Recently we already got the first trailer and details for Monster Hunter XX on the Nintendo Switch. It's the first third party release that can really make an impact on the console, at least on the Japanese market. The game is scheduled to arrive in Japan this summer on August 25, while a Western release date is yet to be announced.
Capcom also revealed a special edition Nintendo Switch bundle, which will launch alongside the game in Japan on August 25. It includes a copy of Monster Hunter XX along with a special Monster Hunter-themed Switch dock.
Monster Hunter XX on the Switch will feature the same content as the 3DS version but will support a 1080p resolution when docked and 720p in handheld mode. Players can transfer save data between the 3DS and the Switch version. Monster Hunter Generations players can transfer their save games to the Switch game, these can not be transferred back.
The Switch version will also support crossplay with Monster Hunter XX on the 3DS in online sessions. Four Switch and 3DS consoles, any number of them, can connect to share a multiplayer hunt via an internet connection. In addition, the new ones can also connect to each other on a local network.
