During the ongoing Dice Summit 2018, Naughty Dog creative lead Neil Druckmann took centre stage to discuss the upcoming Uncharted movie and spilt some beans with regards to how the studio is looking to turn its best-selling PlayStation franchise into a feature film. Apparently, Druckmann really likes the choice of director, Shawn Levy (Stranger Things, Night at the Museum), whom Neil thinks "get's it", although he's unsure if he will feel comfortable watching Spiderman star Tom Holland play Nathan Drake in the movie.

"We used to just be excited, oh my god, movies are looking at us! There could be an Uncharted movie on the screen, and then as more time passes on, we're not excited by a direct adaptation of the story we told because we feel we've already told that story very well cinematically, so I don't know what else you could bring to it."

"For me, and I know for Naughty Dog and for a lot of our fans, Nolan North is Nathan Drake. Ashley Johnson is Ellie. Troy Baker is Joel. It would be very disorienting to see someone else in that role."

Druckmann also told the audience that he no longer wants the rumoured The Last of Us movie to be made anymore - at least not with the script that's floating around (which apparently is a straight-up re-write of the game's story). He looked back on the script recently and came to the conclusion that there is no story there, apparently: "Now, having some separation from it, I look back like, I don't want that movie to be made."
