Take-Two are being sued to the tune of $1,144,000 over the appearance of tattoos on certain players in NBA 2K16.

Solid Oak Sketches are taking legal actin against the publisher over eight different tattoos that feature on various players in the basketball game, including tats on both LeBron James and Kobe Bryant. The tattooist secured the copyrights last year and contacted Take-Two at the time.

"It's clear that they knew that this was something that was to be negotiated," said a rep from Heitner Legal, the firm co-representing the plaintiff.

If you want to read the legal documentation accompanying this complaint, head over to the Holywood Reporter for all the details.

There's legal precedent for the action taken by Solid Oak Sketches, after tattoo artist Chris Escobedo agreed an out-of-court settlement with
THQ over a similar claim back in 2012. Escobedo received compensation to the tune of $22,500 after his work appeared in UFC Undisputed 3.
