Variety report that EA and producer John Gatins (Real Steel) are looking to sell a Need for Speed film concept to studios looking for a "Fast and Furious" style matinée. Apparently Paramount are looking hot to sign the movie, with Sony and Warner Bros also considering it.

Whether or not Need for Speed is something that deserves the silver screen treatment is a different story, but then again it's not like "The Fast and the Furious" have set the bar very high in terms of quality.

The most recent Need for Speed title, Need for Speed: The Run, attempted to add a narrative to the experience.
