2K and Firaxis today announced a new content drop for Xcom 2: War of the Chosen called the Tactical Legacy Pack. It will be available on October 9 on PC and it's going to be free for all of War of the Chosen expansion owners until December 3.
Tactical Legacy Pack will add new game modes and story events which take you to the time between the events of Xcom: Enemy Unknown and Xcom 2. There'll be new gameplay modes where you will play as Central Officer Bradford and steer the good ship Xcom through the events that take place between the two latest games.
On top of bunch of story-driven missions and challenges there's the Resistant Archives (a survival mode of sorts where you will engage enemies in a series of tactical missions that increase in difficulty), the Skirmish Mode (where you can create and play your own missions with various adjustable settings such as maps, squad loadouts, objectives, enemies, and more), and the Offline Challenge Mode (which includes 100+ War of the Chosen challenges to play through).
There are also 28 new maps incoming, including remastered maps from Xcom: Enemy Unknown and Xcom: Enemy Within, as well as weapons and armour from the series that can be unlocked in the War of the Chosen campaign if you complete certain objectives. The game also turns up the style with some new customisation items, plus the soundtrack is getting updated with tunes taken from the prequel and original game, X-COM: UFO Defense.
After December 3 players can buy the Tactical Legacy Pack for £6.49.
