New franchise record for Tomb Raider
The latest Tomb Raider has sold a whopping 8.5 million copies.

Square Enix has announced that the reboot of Tomb Raider now has reached over 8.5 million sales since it was launched in 2013. That makes it the best selling game in the series to date, and proves that it was the right decision to reboot Lara Croft.
It's worth noticing that Tomb Raider was a success from the very beginning, but also that it has been frequently and heavily discounted. This fall we can look forward to the sequel when Rise of the Tomb Raider is launched exclusively for Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
