Fans of FTL: Faster Than Light will be delighted to hear that there's some more information doing the rounds regarding the incoming free expansion.

The Advanced Edition is set to launch alongside the iPad port of the game (with Android to follow thereafter), and will include a variety of tweaks, improvements and content additions.

Perhaps the most interesting addition is the Clone Bay. Instead of the Med Bay (that healed characters), players will be able to respawn clones of characters who have died, although they'll lose some skills in the process. Players will have to decide whether to change their approach or stick with the old, but it should open up potentially more aggressive play styles.

Players will also be able to set up a Hacking room, that sends drones to hack specific enemy systems. Mind Control will allow players to take control of an enemy crew member. There's also going to be a Backup Battery (which is pretty much self explanatory). On top of that expect new visual tweaks and a new Hard Mode. More details here.
