New Gears of War 4 trailer presents Horde 3.0

See what's new in the classic wave-based co-op mode.

Gears of War 2 introduced Horde mode to the series, which in turn was the starting point of hundreds of imitations in other games, and Gears of War 3 iterated on the concept by introducing tower defence elements to the formula.

We've known for a good while that the mode would make a comeback with Gears of War 4, that's under development at The Coalition, but the studio has been really quiet about what changes and news would be made to it.

Now, though, they've released a trailer that presents Horde 3.0, as they call it, and we get our first real look at how it will play. You can watch the clip below.

Gears of War 4 will hit a PC or Xbox One near you on October 11.
