Following the PC launch of Insurgency: Sandstorm, New World Interactive has officially stated they are going to open a new studio in Calgary, Canada. Titled 'New World North', the studio is planned to open in March of this year, and is currently looking for staff in all disciplines.

In a statement in the official press release, President of New World Keith Warner said: "This is an incredibly exciting time for New World and marks a major milestone for us as a company as we look to expand upon the success of Insurgency: Sandstorm, by increasing our skillset, production values and continued innovation within the tactical shooter genre."

Upon the studio opening, it will provide post-release support for Insurgency Sandstorm. The studio will also add development support for a yet unannounced title, although as expected we don't know much about that

Game Director Jeremy Blum expressed his excitement at the future of New World Interactive. "Given the company's newfound success with Insurgency: Sandstorm we have a tremendous opportunity to open a studio and bring together the majority of our team. After careful consideration into where this location should be, we have decided on Calgary, and look forward to growing our team in our new home," he said.
