We've been covering the Overwatch League's offseason quite extensively over the past few days, as due to the 2021 season being over and teams preparing for the 2022 season, which will be played on Overwatch 2 and use a 5v5 format, there have been some serious changes to the rosters we've come to recognise.

One of the latest to follow suit is the New York Excelsior who has parted ways with six members, leaving just a couple of players on its active roster. The members who have left the team are:

  • Gyeong-mu "Yakpung" Jo

  • Seung-woo "FEATH5R" Lee

  • Shin "Kalios" Woo-yeol

  • Gwang-won "Gwangboong" Kim

  • Dong-wook "BiaNcA" Kim

  • Min-jae "Friday" Jo

The latter two have retired from competitive Overwatch, but the former four are likely still looking for opportunities in the scene.

While the NYXL does currently still feature Young-woo "Flora" Lim and Sung-hyeon "JJoNak" Bang on its team, it has been reported by Arran "Halo" Spake that New York is allowing JJoNak to explore free agency, meaning even he may not be with the organisation next season.
