Mark Rein, VP at Epic Games, has spoken out about how his company is "constantly pushing" platform holders to make consoles more powerful.

In an interview with CVG, Rein talked about how he fears for the future of consoles, and explains that without being pushed forward, they run the risk of being overtaken by Apple.

When asked about pushing platform holders, Rein said: "Don't worry. We are absolutely every day. This is why we did Samaritan and why we're doing a really high-end demo in the room here. We really are pushing these guys, because if they don't, Apple will go right past them."

He later added: "The console gaming experience is about delivering something that's way out past the bleeding edge and subsidising it through the software royalty model - just like Apple does with the phones. It's not that much different."

Yesterday, at the same time as Apple unvieled the new iPad, Epic revealed their new iOS title Infinity Blade: Dungeons.
