Stranger Things Season 4 is on the way

We're not in Hawkins anymore, but we'll still be seeing the show return for another season.

The official Twitter account for Netflix series Stranger Things has revealed that a fourth season is on the way, although "we're not in Hawkins anymore"... whatever that might mean.

Season 3 was only released this July, but it's one of Netflix's top shows in terms of original series. With some big events wrapping up the third season too, there are still questions to be answered as we move forward.

"The Duffer Brothers have captivated viewers around the world with Stranger Things and we're thrilled to expand our relationship with them to bring their vivid imaginations to other film and series projects our members will love," Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement (thanks, The Hollywood Reporter). "We can't wait to see what the Duffer Brothers have in store when they step outside the world of the Upside Down."

"We're not in Hawkins anymore." seems fairly obvious to me. For one, how many times can the town be nearly destroyed without anyone noticing? The second season alone wa a bit dumb in that regards, and then the third one? That's stretching it quite a lot.

But even if we ignore that, there is the whole ending in season three. Or multiple endings, I guess. Without spoiling too much, we had a scene in Russia with direct ties to the Upside Down, and who can forget "that"... neverending... scene in the finale? It doesn't make sense if that was a one time thing, but it also doesn't make sense to have the follow up in Hawkins. There are other strong clues too. But all in all, I would be very surprised if we WERE in Hawkins again.
