Next Mario Kart 8 DLC in final stages of development
New tracks, racers, and karts planned for May.

The first piece of DLC for Mario Kart 8 was released and the tail end of last year to much acclaim thanks to some decent new courses, lots of fan service, excellent design, and some solid tweaks and additions.
The second DLC pack is planned for May this year and we can look forward to the three new racers - Dry Bowser, Villager, and Isabelle - as well as both new stages and new karts.
Fortunately, it doesn't seem like there will be any delays, and the DLC will actually be delivered on time. This is according to Nintendo, who posted on MiiVerse (translated with Google Translate and basic knowledge in Japanese):
"The delivery is scheduled for the end of May. Production has entered the final stage. Please be patient."
