Sony and Microsoft took to the stage this week and pitched us their respective next-gen visions. Perhaps Sony shaded it thanks to their announcement that there'll be no used-game or online restrictions and a lower launch price, but there was pretty unanimous agreement that Microsoft did much better during their presentation than they did during the Xbox One's unveiling last month.

Both platform holders had good conferences, and in amongst all of the announcements, there was several exclusive games revealed.

Xbox One

Microsoft took to the stage first, and revealed a nice spread of games. Ryse: Son of Rome was one of the first titles we got to see during the event. It looks pretty, but also a bit QTE heavy. Here's the trailer.

Dead Rising 3 was the next big exclusive announced. Capcom are returning to the fan-favourite zombie series. There's a grittier art style for sure, but weapon customisation is also back. Hurrah.

In a surprising move Insomniac Games took to Microsoft's stage to reveal Sunset Overdrive, a whacky shooter with cartoony graphics. Expect this one to take advantage of the "always-on" functionality on the Xbox One.

Is it Halo 5, or just Halo? No one is sure at the moment, but Master Chief was there nevertheless. You can watch the teaser trailer here and bask in the glory of the return of every Xbox fans favourite Spartan.

We also got to see a bit more of Quantum Break, Remedy's next-fen interactive-game, but we're still a little confused if truth be told. Hopefully more light will be shed on the game in the near future.

Forza Motorsport 5 was display once again, as was Respawn's Titanfall. The good ship Titanfall had previously sprung a leak, but it was a welcome addition to the line-up. It's a futuristic shooter with mechs, and unsurprisingly it looks really, really cool.

Project Spark was also demoed during the conference, and it looks like an amusing content creation title that'll give us plenty to do when it launches.

As well as a number of triple A titles they also revealed several other exciting additions for the new console. Minecraft will feature in the new line-up (although perhaps it's not fair to call it a new addition), and will come packing bigger servers and bigger worlds for creative players to set their imaginations to.

D4 is an episodic murder mystery from Hidetaka "Swery65" Suehiro and his development team. There's some intrigue surrounding this product from the team responsible for the love it or hate it Deadly Premonition. If it's anywhere near as surreal as that game, Xbox One players will be in for a few surprises.

Rare's classic brawler will return to gaming with a reboot of their famous Killer Instinct fighting game (development is being handled by Double Helix). It's going to be free-to-play, with players getting one character to brawl with, but with subsequent fighters set to cost. How it'll be priced remains to be seen.

Sega will produce new game Crimson Dragon, which looks like it's finally found a home on Xbox One. It's coming from the makers of Panzer Dragoon, so has an impressive pedigree, and it will feature classic aerial gameplay as players sore through the skies as the titular dragon. There was no sound during the presentation, much to the amusement of the assembled audience.

Below is a rogue-like platformer from the creators of Sword and Sorcery EP. Below features a similarly stunning art design to Superbrothers' popular iOS game, though there there was no indication as to when the title will launch.

During EA's conference it was revealed that Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, a new third-person shooter from puzzle experts PopCap Games, would also be an Xbox exclusive (coming first to Xbox One, then to 360).
