The NHL games are obviously incredibly popular with hockey fans across the world, and when we talked with Sean Ramjagsingh about NHL 18 at EA Play a few weeks ago, we asked about whether the new pace of the NHL, with younger players coming through, will be encorporated into the game, and he responded in the affirmative.

"Such a transition to a younger generation, these kids are just coming in and having an impact at such a young age right now and that's what we're trying to do with NHL 18 is capture that speed, that skill, the creativity you see on a nightly basis," he explained, "you know, the moves that they're doing, they're going in between the legs, they're going top shelf, they're using those moves strategically [...] so in NHL 18 we're capturing that from the offence perspective. All the new moves that you're seeing in today's NHL."

"And then defensively it's really important for us that we round out our gameplay with the new defensive skill stick. You have full control of your stick to counter all those offensive moves that we're putting in there. Lots, lots more - the new NHL Threes mode that we're adding really is fast-paced, pick up and play, exciting brand of hockey, brand new mode, brand new experience for our fans, a new take that really captures the greatest stuff you're seeing in hockey right now."

Do you think this injection of pace is what's needed for the NHL series?
