EA's NHL 19 is launching on September 14 on PS4 and Xbox One, and starting today (Friday, July 27) players are invited to an open beta test to check out the "World of CHEL, an evolution of the fan-favorite Hockey League mode that introduces a unified progression and customization system for created players".

In the open beta players can play in a new NHL Ones mode, as well as Threes Drop-In, EASHL Drop-In, Clubs modes and Online Versus with the 31 current NHL teams. The beta also allows players to customise their own skater with 15 different traits and 21 different specialisations (goalies can be customised with six different traits and nine specialisations).

The NHL 19 open beta also marks the debut of Real Player Motion (RPM) Tech, which is supposed to offer "the most realistic skating experience in series history".

The open beta starts today and runs until August 2. You can download it via the Xbox Marketplace and on the PlayStation Store. Feedback from the beta can be shared here, and/or by using the hashtag #NHL19Beta on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
