You may remember Niantic Labs as the studio behind the hugely successful Pokémon Go, and now the developer has announced a brand new augmented reality game, this time based on the Harry Potter franchise.

In the game players will learn spells, explore their neighbourhoods in the real world to discover and tackle powerful enemies, and team up with other budding wizards on their journeys.

The game is being developed in partnership with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and WB Games San Francisco's development team, and "will leverage the full stack of the Niantic Platform while also providing an opportunity to pioneer all new technology and gameplay mechanics," as the press release explains.

We don't know any more details other than that, but it seems as if it's pretty big in scale, and we'll learn more as we get closer to its release next year. What do you want to see from this game?
