Earlier this month World Mental Health Day took place, a day dedicated to talking about mental health concerns, and it was revealed that the proceeds of all sales of Ninja Theory's Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice that day were going to a mental health charity, a relevant link since the game deals with illnesses such as psychosis. We now know just how much the campaign raised, and it's definitely impressive.

The proceeds donated amounts to £60,798.80 and all of this will be going to Rethink Mental Illness, a charity that supports and campaigns for those who are severely impacted by mental illnesses, helping millions by not only supporting them but also changing attitudes too.

Ninja Theory co-founder Tameem Antoniades said: "We're proud of our fans for showing their kindness towards others who, like our hero Senua, need our help and support to continue the good fight. Our donation to Rethink Mental Illness will impact many people's lives in a meaningful way and help shed light on their darkness. Our small gesture has made a big difference. Thank you."

Jemima Woolgar, Rethink Mental Illness Events & Community Fundraising Manager, added: "Your generous donation will make a big difference to the work that we do here at Rethink Mental Illness. The donation is the equivalent of employing two of our full-time colleagues to answer calls to our advice and information line, helping people newly diagnosed with mental illness get more information and support - which is fantastic."

REVIEW. Written by Eirik Hyldbakk Furu

"Ninja Theory said that they didn't want to make a game that was supposed to entertain everyone, but give us an experience we'd never seen before."
