In an interview with the UK's Official Nintendo Magazine, Legend Of Zelda producer Eiji Aonuma has dismissed the chance of future games returning to classic control schemes.

Given the current generation Zeldas have slowly moved to perfect the Wii MotionPlus design, the mag asked the obvious question about his thoughts on the franchise's control scheme for the future.

"I honestly think we cannot go back to button controls now, so I think that these controls will be used in future Zelda titles, too," he confirmed.

The MotionPlus control aspect was one of Skyward Sword's most acclaimed aspects, allowing players to move Link's sword arm accurately. However, given the Wii U controller's tablet-like design, it'll be interesting to see how the series adapts in the next iteration.
