The New York Excelsior has re-signed their star flex support player, Seonghyun "JJoNak" Bang for at least the 2021 season. The East coast Overwatch League team has played with JJoNak under their banner since the inaugural season, where he won the Overwatch League MVP award, and has since become a League veteran.

JJoNak has seen varied success on the NYXL line-up, from being a titan of the regular season, often finishing top of the Atlantic division, to stumbling at most playoff opportunities - primarily the 2018 Grand Finals where the NYXL was the favourite to win. The difference with this re-signing is now, JJoNak is the only active player on the NYXL roster, as every other member of the team has either retired, or transferred elsewhere.

Due to this state of New York, it's hard to tell how JJoNak will fare over the coming season. Will he be surrounded with talent equal to or better than what he was used to, or will he be expected to be the veteran in the line-up? Only time will tell as the Excelsior look to reveal more roster additions.
