Oculus has already revealed the Rift and the Go headsets, but now Facebook and Oculus have revealed the Oculus Quest, which is a standalone headset for $399 USD coming with controllers now featuring touch panels. Oculus says that in doing this they have innovated inside the VR world once more, and the resolution inside the headset will be 1280 x 1280 per eye, running at 30 frames-per-second. Just to be clear, this is a standalone headset only, and will not be compatible with a computer.

The headset will launch in spring 2019 and offers six degrees of freedom, without wires and external sensors. 50 titles are lined up for launch, with more in the works like Robo Recall, The Climb, and Moss, and the headset starts with 64GB as the cheapest option.

The Oculus Insight technology was also unveiled, which helps power inside-out tracking and Touch controller tracking, using four ultra wide-angle sensors and computer vision algorithms to track positions, promising "a greater sense of immersion, presence, and mobility, plus the ability to go beyond room-scale."

For more on the headset, check out Oculus' own site. Will you be investing in this?
