It's no secret that both Oxford and Cambridge universities have a strong rivalry, not only academically but in terms of sporting events like the famous boat race, and now the British Esports Association reports that the Varsity Esports Match between the two institutions is due to return on June 17 this year as well, having already run for five years prior.

This match should see 120 people attend, with the games themselves being livestreamed both here and here. As expected, this will see the Oxford University Esports Society face the Cambridge University Digital Gaming Society, where teams will be selected to compete in Dota 2, League of Legends, CS:GO, Hearthstone, StarCraft II, and Overwatch.

Couchcasters will be the official event partners, providing tech teams, casters, and more for the matches, while Twitch is providing transport and coverage, so it's shaping up to be an entertaining affair, especially since DinoPC, noblechairs, Zowie, and Razer are also partners, helping bolster the tech fair on show at the event as well.

"The Oxford-Cambridge rivalry has had the two universities competing in sporting events for well over a century, and we are very excited to see the Varsity Esports Match adding to the history of these two world renowned universities," a statement reads.
