Overkill has been under fire since last October. Payday 2 was released more than two years ago and has received many free and paid-for updates since then, and overall it has sold pretty well.
However, in October the developer decided to include microtransactions, even though they previously said that they would never do so. The reason: the studio said they needed the money to develop new content.
Now, at the beginning of this year the studio has surprised their community with a new paid-for DLC. For $6.99 player can get the new Goat Simulator add-on, which will be available on Steam from tomorrow. The included heist starts off easy, with players needing to intercept a truck carrying cocaine. However, when arriving at the scene, players will find a crashed truck and some crazy goats that need catching.
Part of the package is a new two-day heist, but there's also a new shotgun, four melee weapons, four masks, four patterns, four materials, five new achievements and two new songs by Simon Viklund. Some fans aren't all that pleased about the new offering, as you can read over on Reddit. For some the content is too expensive and they still haven't forgiven the studio for introducing microtransactions.
