A few weeks back we caught up with Ian Moreno of The Behemoth, the developers of upcoming 'Pit People,' a fast-paced turn-based strategy. Typical of The Behemoth, Pit People features their own unique art style and has a strong emphasis on couch co-op, which is something of a common theme in all of their games.

One of the biggest worries from us about this game compared to other The Behemoth games like Castle Crashers and BattleBlock Theatre was how they were going to create a balance between couch co-op and strategy, two styles that don't really fit well together. Luckily, Moreno assured us that they have it covered:

"You're definitely going to experience [that it's not necessarily a natural fit] with the planning aspect, we're hassling each other when we play, and we're going to have ways to get that going," says Moreno. "The game itself is a very streamlined strategy game, so it's meant to be fast paced and you can play it fast paced, but that's where that 'griefing' comes in, it's both in the game and outside the game of like 'Hurry up, finish your moves'."

The discussion also revolved around the brilliant modified arcade stick The Behemoth brought along for the demo, and their policy of showing off their games at a very early phase (before even naming them).

Pit people doesn't have a release date yet, but sometime this year we will be getting a beta for Xbox One, so keep an eye out for that. You can check out the full interview below.
