Sony has just published its quarterly report detailing the results for Q2, 2018, which ended on September 30th. In the report, Sony has revealed updated sales figures for the PlayStation 4.

In the quarter itself, the report confirms that an additional 3.9 million PS4 consoles were shipped to stores, meaning that the combined lifetime sales number for the console has climbed to 86.1 million consoles. Even though that's an impressive figure, Sony has now adjusted its sales projections for the entirety of the fiscal year from 17 million PS4s sold to 17.5 million. They have to March 31st to reach that figure.

Game software sales climbed too, to 75.1 million units sold, which is up 5.4 million compared to last quarter.

Even though the next generation is approaching, it would seem that Sony is doing just fine for the time being.
