Last month it was announced that Gamelab conference was getting an Advisory Board to help build the event. Now we know one of its most prominent members will kick off this year's 14th edition for PlayStation flavoured start.

We're talking about PS4 architect Mark Cerny, who will be joined on stage in Barcelona by no other than President and CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment America (SIEA) and Chairman of SIE Worldwide Studios Shawn Layden. Both will hold the opening conference on Wednesday, June 27, and given their role related to everything hardware and first-party software within the PlayStation ecosystem, it'll be a must-attend for PS fans, more so just a fortnight after what promises to be a memorable E3 2018.

The event organisers have also released a first, but not final, list of confirmed speakers so far, including, for a change, a good number of women both on the development side of things and executive leaders. Rovio CEO Kati Levoranta, Team17 co-founder Debbie Bestwick, Magic Leap interaction director Aleissia Laidacker, Horizon: Zero Dawn producer Angie Smets, and Cuphead artist & producer Maja Moldenhauer, among others, will speak in Barcelona.

Gamereactor will once again be an official media partner for Gamelab, bringing you interviews with speakers as part of our special coverage. If you want to attend in person on June 27-29, you can register here.
