Minecraft is a phenomenon that still keeps growing, and at Minecon Earth it was revealed that it has sold 154 million copies to date (across all platforms) with 91 million active users during July this year. Massive stats considering how successful Fortnite has managed to be this year, but clearly, it hasn't hurt Minecraft player numbers.
Mojang continues to update the game and the update is called Village & Pillage, at long last the villagers are getting a proper update, but that's not all, they're getting an enemy type too called Pillagers who will raid villages along with their beasts. Villagers will now come in biome-specific variations as well, on top of the redesign.
Another big new feature that will launch later this year are pandas, and cats will be turned into their own species. Mojang is also working to improve the Bedrock engine and the add-on system, you'll be able to use javascript to customise more, and to create all-new animals and design their looks, animations, particle systems, and spawning.
