It's certainly proving very popular.

We've already reported that this autumn's Pokémon Sun/Moon was the biggest European launch in the history of the franchise, but the game has also been a big success in USA. The NPD Group (via VentureBeat) has released the numbers for October 30 to November 26, and the two Pokémon games have proven themselves very popular.

Although they're ranked third and fourth behind Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1, combined together Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon were the big winner. According to NPD analyst Sam Naji, the game surpassed the franchise's former record holder as fastest selling game (Pokémon White/Black) by 8%, and that's with 19 days less on the market. It seems this summer's Pokémon Go hysteria has rubbed off on the main series, then.

This also impacted the sales for the Nintendo 3DS, which were up 1% since its last peak back in November 2014.

Here's the U.S. top 10 last month:

1. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
2. Battlefield 1
3. Pokémon Sun*
4. Pokémon Moon*
5. Titanfall 2
6. NBA 2K17
7. Madden NFL 17
8. Watch Dogs 2
9. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim*
10. FIFA 17

(* digital sales not included)

As you see, Titanfall 2 climbed from 9th place to 5th in its second month, so people might have decided to listen to the praising critics. Either that, or the 50% price cut convinced more people to buy it. Should Titanfall 2 grow a healthy community, we might not have seen the end of this franchise just yet. Are you part of that community?

REVIEW. Written by Juan A. Fonseca

"Be it the story, visual style, setting, creatures, combat, or even the fan service, this game delves deeper into the RPG genre and it's better for the shift."
