Last year Ubisoft lifted the lid on The Settlers, and at Gamescom 2018 we heard that they "took a step back" to work on this new entry in the series, so at this year's Gamescom we were eager to chat with creative director Volker Wertich to hear about how progress is going.

"We want to deliver the game of course, and the quality that people are waiting for and that they really would appreciate, so we decided that 2019 would be too early, so we shipped the game to 2020," he said.

"On the other hand, we are also working hard on the product itself, and we are adding some interesting features. All I can announce now is that we have procedural maps again in the game, which were also part of the first Settlers games, and I think this is a really crucial feature because it makes sure that you have a different challenge each time you play a new map."

You can check out the full interview below. Are you eager to try The Settlers again?
