Project C.A.R.S. raises €500,000

Need for Speed: Shift developers Slightly Mad Studios have managed to raise €500,000 from fans through crowdfunding (similar to what Double Fine did recently) for their next game - Project C.A.R.S.

The funds have been raised through World of Mass Development (WMD), and fans who have contributed will be able to help out and test early version of the game as it is being put together.

Slightly Mad Studios are looking for the community not only for financial support, but also for feedback and inspiration as C.A.R.S. stands for Community-Assisted Racing Sim.

The game is planned for release on PC in 2013, and later on PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. You can head over to the project page on WMD for more information.
