Quake Champions will contain a 'classic mode'

Quake Champions' project lead Tim Willits confirmed earlier today that the upcoming shooter, based on the classic franchise Quake, will in fact contain a 'classic mode' that will automatically strip away all the new functions and make the game as bare bones and straight-forward as Quake III Arena.

This is of course superb news for all of us old gamers that are longing for a old school arena shooter without all the new stuff that games of today come with.

Willits also said that custom games would allow you to play classic matches where you all play as the same character: "We want to make sure we give people what they want," he said. "If you create custom game mode, you should be able to set the game up the way you want. If you need to turn off Champions, we'll let you turn off Champions. That won't be a problem."
