It's almost a tradition now that indie guru and Vlambeer's Rami Ismail, who's been supporting the independent scene for years, talks to young devs at Gamelab and even curates or recommends to Gamereactor a few picks from the Indie Hub in Barcelona.

For the third year in a row, we interviewed Ismail in the video below to discuss several topics such as Vlambeer's current plans, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly panel (which will soon be available on GRTV), a statement on Gamer Ladies event cancellation, his stance on VR, and even Fumito Ueda's background as an animator, but once again we wanted to highlight a few indie picks first:

"It's always hard because obviously everybody here did a lot of work and is very passionate", admits Ismail. "But if there are games that stand out to me personally I really like Etherborn, I thought it was a fascinating game. There's a game called Anyone's Diary, which is a very interesting VR game. And then right behind this there's a game called Raiders [of the Broken Planet], which I actually think, for the team they have, the visual quality, and the fidelity and the polish is amazing. And I love when an indie studio can do that kind of work as well. So it's a huge variety, very different games, which is actually really nice to see. But if I had to pick three, those would be my picks".

We already posted our Gamelab interview on Raiders of the Broken Planet (you can check it out here), and we'll soon publish respective interviews on both Anyone's Diary and Etherborn for you to learn more. For now, though, check out Ismail's interview and a quick look at the Indie Hub down below. What was your indie highlight from Gamelab?
