Red Dead Redemption 2 finally found its way to store shelves this past Friday, and while many expected a humongous sales number yesterday Rockstar stayed silent, prompting many to speculate that the sales were less than impressive. Now though it would seem that both Take-Two and Rockstar themselves can breathe easy.
Through a press release sent to Gamereactor, Rockstar has revealed that Red Dead Redemption 2 has achieved "the single-biggest opening weekend in the history of entertainment". This is based on the $725 million the game has pulled through in retail sell-through during its first three days on store shelves.
This, however, makes it second to Grand Theft Auto V, which pulled in a whopping $1 billion during its first three days, but that came out on a Tuesday.
It also took the record for most ever pre-orders on PlayStation Network.
